-
- But the upper management have to approve what they are doing and fund
- what they are doing (via the investors/stockholders etc.) and if the
- upper management want this and that in and take this and that out or drop
- this all together due to whatever reason, does it matter if the guys
- making it love the Amiga or the C64?
-
- Dave Haynie at Commodore was also a part of the "developmental team" and
- you saw all the good ideas and projects he was working on and got canned
- by upper management.
-
- Who's to say the upper management isn't going to tell the developmental
- team to bastardize the AmigaOS and technology/chipset to fit the needs of
- their set-top box but when they try to apply the same technology to a
- general purpose computer ("apply the technology to all the line") it gets
- useless? Who's to say they aren't going to keep AT and the dealers happy
- for one year or so producing computers and apps/games for it and then
- decide to drop the computer line and force all developers to either
- develop for the set-top box (once its fully out in the marketplace) or go
- elsewhere (assuring them by that time more then likely they will stick
- with the set-top box to keep food on their table).
-
- Surely the "developmental team" make the product (which primary focus is
- the ED) but they CERTAINLY do not run the company.
-
- This could end up being a stop gap like Windows 95 is swaying Windows
- 3.11 users to Windows NT. VISCorp could be swaying Amiga developers to go
- from the Amiga computer to the ED.
